You did not know icebergs at sea
But as God’s Word you set
Absolute Zero and Freezing Point for me
When things came to be.

You did not walk on lava fields
But as God’s Word you let
Earth’s molten core and live volcanoes free
To bring new life to be.

You did not see
Glaciers or hot springs
Perhaps not Glastonbury
But you saw death for me.

Boy of the desert prayer
Knowing the silence and the voice.
Child of the Temple
Learning a creed.

Outcast from home
Sensing an Origin.
Prophet of siege
Longing to warn them.

You did not know our day.
